Film and poster Analysis

Key conventions of this Frozen Poster:
  1. Central image
  2. Release date
  3. Colour scheme
  4. Title
  5. institutional logo and details
This attracts the audience as the first line at the top of the poster says, "From the creators of 'Tangled' and 'Wreck it Ralph'" which would appeal to audiences who also like Disney, animated movie with excitement as it is about the same genre which viewers of 'Tangled' AND 'Wreck It Ralph' have already liked which would give the movie 'Frozen' a similar audience too.

Also the fact that the central image has not only the perfect idea of a princess but also animated animals, snowman and a Moose which would also attract viewers as it is atypical christmas fun movie to watch.

Key conventions of this Frozen trailer:
  1. Short clips of the movie
  2. Fast paced editing
  3. Text on screen
  4. Title and release date
  5. Institutional logo and details
This attracts the viewers as the short clips of the movie gives thrill and excitement to the viewers as it is going very fast with action and many different characters being shown with their names, also, it is set around December- regarding the snow and the ice with warm jackets and winter wear - this would excite their target audience (mainly young children) as most young children like snow and cold weather and building snowmen which is what the movie "Frozen" advertises.

Also, this movie attracts an audience as it is animated with comedy which would be suitable for all ages (a family movie) due to the storyline that is portrayed: something going wrong and someone else trying to fix it but (obviously) there is conflict whilst trying to solve it.

I think the trailer successfully promotes the movie, 'Frozen' more than the poster as the trailer gives you an insight of the movie more as it gives you dialogue and an introduction to the characters with the text on the screen which gives the viewers a "sneak peak" of who they are going to see. Also, the trailer has more key conventions than the movie poster as the movie poster doesn't include an age certificate or a production blurb which most successful posters have which- clearly - doesn't make this less of a successful poster but it would be even better if it included these things.

From the trailer it shows that a girl died in a house and her friends are trying to get in contact with her. Obviously there are loads of problems that happen during the process

The characters are young american men and women (probably 19-21) The victim of the death; vulnerable, young, female. The best-friend who wants to get in contact with her; american, also female, young, brave, and willing to get in contact her no matter what the obstacles are.

Iconography
In this trailer there are plenty of iconography regarding to a horror such as; Orchestra music (violins), loud sound effects (door creaking, footsteps), death, vulnerable young women and men, jump scares, paranormal activity and injuries.

Setting
Due to the trailer it is clear that this movie was set in America (the house where the paranormal activity happens) due to their accents and the type of scenery such as the diner's and the roads which suggests it is a horror as the house it 'haunted' looking.

Think Like a Man

The story line - only based on the trailer - is identifying typical stereotypes of women and men due to Steve Harvey's book which helps women, and men, defeat the typical routine and ways that they have and do.

The characters are stereotypes of men; Player (good body, good looking and fairyl young), mummy's boy (successful, attactched to their mums), happily married man (35-40 years old, socially detatched), happier divorced man (middle aged, partier, direspectful, Dreamer (good looking, single, unemplyed) and the non Commiter (immature, young), and pretty women.

Romance, an argument or conflict to break the couple up, best friends of both genders, a common interest of the men (club and basketball), something which brings the couples back together.

Setting
Think Like a Man is set in LA due to the roads and accents of the actresses and actors.
